Aluminium Raw Material Classifications:

New Pure Aluminium Sheet Wire and Cable

New uncoated, unalloyed Aluminium sheet, wire and cable scrap, not burnt or corroded. The Aluminium content shall be 99% minimum. Minimum thickness 0.2mm. Free from hair wire, wire screen and from iron and all other foreign substances. A delivery may contain a stated percentage of pieces less than 5cm by previous arrangement between the parties. Total maximum tolerance for oil, grease and non- metallic coatings: 1%. The scrap must be free of deleterious materials.

New Scrap Of One Aluminium Alloy

New uncoated Aluminium alloy scrap of one specified alloy only. Minimum thickness 0.2mm. A delivery may contain a stated percentage of pieces less than 5cm by previous arrangement between the parties. Free from coated material, castings and all other foreign substances. Total maximum tolerance for oil, grease and dust: 1%. The scrap must be free of deleterious materials.

New Low Copper Aluminium Scrap (Commercial Pure)

New uncoated pure sheet scrap may contain a proportion of one or more Aluminium alloys, none of which shall contain more than 0.1% copper and 0.1% each of zinc, lead, tin antimony and bismuth. Minimum thickness 0.2mm. A delivery may contain a stated percentage of pieces less than 5cm by previous arrangement between the parties. Total maximum tolerance for oil, grease and non-metallic coatings: 1%. The scrap must be free of deleterious materials.

New Clean Production Aluminium Extrusion Scrap

New Clean Production Aluminium Extrusion Scrap

New clean production Aluminium extrusion scrap may contain anodised material but must be free from painted materials and thermal break. This material shall generally consist of 6063 (HE9) and 6082 (HE30) scrap. It shall not contain more than 0.1% copper and 0.1% zinc. Total maximum tolerance for oil, grease and non-metallic coatings: 1%. The scrap must be free from deleterious materials.

New Production Painted Aluminium Extrusion Scrap

New Production Painted Aluminium Extrusion Scrap

New production painted Aluminium extrusion scrap. This material shall not contain thermal break and should not include more than 0.1% copper and 0.1% zinc. Total maximum tolerance for oil and grease: 1%. The scrap must be free from deleterious materials.

New and used Mixed Aluminium Alloy Cuttings and Extrusions

Must be free from alloys containing more than 0.1% zinc. High copper containing alloys may be included by previous arrangement between the parties. Maximum sizing is to be agreed between the parties. Must not contain material which will pass through an aperture of 5cm. Total maximum tolerance for oil, grease and non-metallic coatings: 1%. The scrap must be free from deleterious materials.

Old Rolled Aluminium Scrap

Old household utensils and other wrought scrap of unalloyed and alloyed Aluminium. Minimum thickness 0.2mm. Free from Venetian blinds, UBCs, castings, toothpaste tubes, bottle caps, milk bottle caps, and to exclude copper and zinc alloys, aircraft alloys and turnings, and from all foreign metallic substances. Must not contain material which will pass through an aperture of 5cm. Total maximum tolerance for calcareous and other non- metallic substance: 2%. The scrap must be free of deleterious materials.

Mixed Aluminium Castings

Whole or broken Aluminium castings of all kinds. Free from crusher scrap, free iron and other foreign substances. May contain a maximum of 5% material which will pass through an aperture of 5cm diameter. Total maximum tolerance for oil, grease and dust: 2%. The scrap must be free of deleterious materials.

Aluminium Turnings up to 2% Zinc

Aluminium borings, millings and turnings of two or more specified alloys, not oxidised, with a maximum of 2% zinc. Free from grindings, free magnesium, and from non-magnetic steel. Total maximum tolerance for fines: 3%. Total maximum tolerance for oil, moisture and free iron: 10%. The scrap must be free of deleterious materials.

Other Scraps

Other scraps not included in the above specification should be sold on analysis or by special arrangement.
